Flat one-time fee No lot-to-lot billing Houston, TX

Our flat rate, one-time travel fee covers us getting to your move location and getting back to our office from your drop-off location. We pride ourselves on giving upfront pricing, with no surprises.

What the Travel Fee Covers

In addition to the hourly rate, we charge a flat travel fee. This fee covers the time spent and gas used getting to the first location of the job from our Houston office, and getting back to our office once we have completed the job to your satisfaction.

The simple version

The travel fee is the cost for us to send you movers, a truck, and all the supplies necessary to complete your move. The hourly rate clock covers the move itself.

Why We Don't Charge "Lot-to-Lot"

Some movers charge "lot-to-lot," meaning they begin their labor clock upon leaving their office and stop it upon returning. So if they hit traffic on the way to you, this can result in unexpected added time and costs on your bill.

In that scenario, the labor clock starts running before the movers even arrive, so you cannot know whether you are being charged accurately or not.

We never do this. With our flat fee, you know exactly what you are being charged for.

How Your Move Is Billed

Your total is built from two clear parts, so there is nothing hidden.

  1. Flat travel fee. A single, one-time charge to send movers, a truck, and supplies to your location and return to our office afterward.
  2. Hourly rate. The labor clock that covers the actual move — loading, transport, and unloading at your drop-off location.

Upfront Pricing, Every Time

Our flat travel fee exists for one reason: so you always know what you are paying for before the job begins. No lot-to-lot surprises, no guessing about traffic, no inflated clocks.

If you are planning a move in Houston, Great Movers Houston can give you a clear, upfront estimate for local moving, commercial moving, office relocation, and packing services.

Flat Travel Fee: FAQ

What does the travel fee cover?

It covers the time and gas for our crew to reach your first location from our Houston office and to return to our office once the job is complete. It also covers sending the movers, truck, and supplies needed for your move.

Is the travel fee separate from the hourly rate?

Yes. The flat travel fee is a one-time charge, and the hourly rate clock covers the move itself — loading, transport, and unloading.

What is "lot-to-lot" billing?

Some movers start their labor clock when they leave their office and stop it when they return. If they hit traffic, that can add unexpected time and cost to your bill. Great Movers Houston does not bill this way.

Will traffic increase my price?

No. Because our travel fee is flat, traffic on the way to your location never changes what you pay.

How do I get an exact price for my move?

Request an estimate and share your pickup and drop-off details. Great Movers Houston will give you clear, upfront pricing before the job begins.
